Scrapbooks, 1940-1944.

This collection contains three scrapbooks that document Mrs. Witt's years as a student at Iowa State College (University). Included are photographs, news clippings, programs, and various memorabilia associated with activities on campus such as VEISHEA, commencement ceremonies, Honors Day, and social dances. The scrapbooks contain photos of the campus, VEISHEA parade floats, military revues, and classmates. There are also images of the Ellen H. Richards house that was used for home management courses.

On March 22, 1948, Iowa State College (University) sponsored a 90th anniversary celebration in honor of the founding of the college, which occurred on the same date in 1858 when the charter act establishing a state agricultural college became law.
